Peppernuts
Modified from Flo's recipe.
- 3/4 c corn syrup
- 1/4 c molassas
- 2 T maple syrup
- 1 c sugar
- 1/2 c butter
- 1-1/2 c evaporated milk 1-12 oz can
- 1 t baking powder
- 1/4 t baking soda
- 1 t ginger
- 1/4 t nutmeg
- 1/4 t allspice
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1/4 t cloves
- 1-1/2 t anise extract
- 8 about a flour use enough flour to make it workable; not sticky
Mix ingredients. Flour: add enough to make it workable; not sticky-- ABOUT 8 cups.
Chill dough
Roll balls of dough in long, round strips of dough.
Cut dough into small pieces about the size of a nickel. Place on greased cookie sheets.
Bake.
