Tart Cherry Liqueur – Carol Allender

Equipment

  • 1 glass container with spigot

Ingredients

  • 1.25 liters vodka 100 proof
  • 3 cups sugar [original was 5]
  • 5 lbs cherries, tart

Instructions

  • In the glass container, layer the cherries, then sugar, then vodka. Set aside.
  • Stir will daily until the sugar is totally dissolved.
  • When all the cherries have fallen to the bottom it is time to strain and bottle!
  • Store the liqueur in the refrigerator or freezer.
